MG electric vehicles in India (2026)
MG has 4 electric cars on sale or confirmed for India, priced from ₹7.50L to ₹20.00L. This page covers the full line-up with specs, realistic range estimates and where each model fits.
How to read these numbers
Every range figure on this page is MG’s claimed or certified number, published as claimed. Expect roughly 72–80% of it in ordinary Indian conditions, and the lower end at highway speed with the air conditioning running — the working behind that band is set out in how we estimate real-world range, and the table below shows both figures so you can plan around the realistic one.

Which MG EV should you buy?
Across the MG range the answer turns on one number, and it is not the one most buyers start with: how far you drive on a typical day, not the longest trip you take in a year.
If your day is under 40 km and you can charge at home, the MG Comet EV at ₹7.50 lakh is the sensible entry to the range — a realistic 166–184 km means you plug in once or twice a week and stop thinking about it. Paying for more range than that buys weight and price you will not use.
If you drive intercity often, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV is the one to look at — a claimed 517 km works out near 393 km in ordinary conditions, which is the difference between planning a trip and simply making it.
For regular highway running, note that the MG Hector Tomahawk EV claims about 35 minutes on a DC fast charger — a number that repeats on every trip and matters more than range once you are past about 300 km.
Whichever you lean towards, settle the charging question before the car question: whether you can put a charge point where you park changes MG ownership more than any specification in the table above.

The MG line-up at a glance
Every figure below is calculated from MG’s published specifications. Realistic range applies our 72–80% band; running cost assumes ₹8 a unit and about 10% charging loss.
| Model | From | Battery | Range | DC charge | Running cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MG Comet EV | ₹7.50 lakh | 17.3 kWh | 230 km claimed, about 175 km realistic | — | about ₹0.87/km |
| MG Windsor EV | ₹12.65 lakh | 52.9 kWh | 449 km claimed, about 341 km realistic | 50 min | about ₹1.36/km |
| MG ZS EV | ₹17.99 lakh | 50.3 kWh | 461 km claimed, about 350 km realistic | 60 min | about ₹1.26/km |
| MG Hector Tomahawk EV | ₹19.49 lakh | 69.2 kWh | 517 km claimed, about 393 km realistic | 35 min | about ₹1.55/km |
A broad line-up. With 4 electric models on sale, MG gives you room to trade range against price inside one brand — which also means one service relationship and one app to live with. Match the variant carefully: within a single model the gap between the entry trim and the long-range trim is often several lakh.
Cheapest way in is the MG Comet EV at ₹7.50 lakh ex-showroom. Longest claimed range is the MG Hector Tomahawk EV at 517 km, which works out to roughly 393 km in ordinary conditions once the 72–80% realistic band is applied. Lowest running cost in the line-up is the MG Comet EV at about ₹0.87 per kilometre at ₹8 a unit.
Quickest to charge is the MG Hector Tomahawk EV, which claims about 35 minutes on a DC fast charger. If you drive highways regularly this is the number to weigh most heavily, because it repeats on every trip — see the fastest-charging EVs in India for where that sits against the wider market.
What the table cannot tell you. Three things decide whether MG suits you and none of them is a specification: whether there is a service centre near you that handles EVs specifically, whether the battery warranty transfers to a second owner, and whether you can install a charge point where you park. Check all three before you shortlist a MG on numbers alone. Our comparison tool will put any two of these against a rival from another brand, and the running-cost calculator takes your own electricity tariff rather than our assumed ₹8 a unit.
